No Bones Day

October 27, 2021 By: PerkyParkie8 Comments

I was scrolling through my social media platforms the other day and I fell into the rabbit hole of TikTok and Instagram.  Once you start you can’t stop.  One video led to the next one and before I knew it, I’d lost hours of my life that I will never get back.  I do have to admit, although the video clips are not usually very educational, they are very creative.

Meet Noodle

As I made my way through the hole, I came across a video of a 13-year-old pug named Noodle.  Noddle has days that he just didn’t want to get out of his bed and start his morning, so his owner Jonathan Graziano started doing predictions of what kind of mood the day would be.

If Noodle flops down, it’s a “no bones day” and people are advised that it may be wise not to take any chances.  Time to keep it safe.  If he stands, it’s a “bones day”, giving people the motivation, they can go out and face the day with confidence.

We can learn a lot from old man Noodle.  As Parkies, we know that some days are good and others suck.  Let’s use the concept of Noodles forecasting the upcoming day.

If you’re having a “no bones day” that means you are to do something nice for yourself.  Practice self-care and don’t be super critical of what you can’t do.  Maybe take a nap, read a book, or go for a nice relaxing walk in nature.  On these days, give yourself permission not to be perfect.

Now if you’re having a bones day that means it go out and get yourself some. You take advantage of having bones and try something new.  Only positive energy.  Shift negative thinking to something that would better serve you, because you have bones!  And it feels good to be alive.

Can you relate to Noodle?  Wishing you all a bones day!

This is one of the most simple, but accurate ways to explain what it’s like living with Parkinson’s. Plus, the cute factor brings me a smile even on a no bones day.

Once in a while it’s no bones day combined with extra gravity. 👀
