‘Twas The Night Before A Perky Parkie Christmas

December 25, 2019 By: PerkyParkie62 Comments

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and Perkys’ a wreck,
She did too much again, aw, why the heck?
Perky knows better, she’s committed a mortal sin.
But has hopes that Sinemet soon will kick in.

Wrapping and ribbons all covered the floor,
The evidence shows the day wasn’t a bore.
Her body moves slow and the rigidity is seen,
But that doesn’t stop her, from smiling like a queen.

Can’t catch some zzz’s, even though she is tired.
A visit from Santa is keeping her wired.
All dressed in her new shoes, and designer jeans,
She’s always looking stylish by any means.

When out on her balcony, arose such a “smash”,
She slowly got up and then made a gradual dash.
Her shaky hands reached when it became quite clear,
Perky’s diva meds not working, that was her fear.

“Oh Come On!” she yelled, as she stomped her feet!
PD is not driving this sleigh, time to take a backseat.
Go on Dystonia, Go Rigidity, Go Tremor and Go Pain.
Go on Freezing, Go Dyskinesia, you’re driving me insane.

Then with a swoosh, her body begins to move,
It is almost like magic, now she is ready to groove.
Finally, it is time, she can feel the power within
As Perky now knows, her meds have kicked in.

She runs for the door and grabs the handle,
As she yanks it open, expecting to see a vandal.
But to her surprise, there lies a gift by her feet,
She bends down and picks it up with such discrete.

Perky doesn’t waste a second; she opens it with one rip,
To her surprise, it was a FroYo gift card for her next trip.
Smiling, she knows that her day is now complete.
She looks up to the sky and down her dark street.

To her surprise, she sees a sleigh with 8 tiny reindeer,
Santa didn’t forget her favorite gift for this year.
Then Perky whispers under the Christmas tree light,
Merry Christmas to all and to all a PD free night.

Looking forward to creating happy memories as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and wrestle grandkids. There will be the usual Poop and Toot humor, but it’s great to help them learn. Glad Crash gets to hang with his extended family. He will have fun too, (refer back to Poop & Toot.) Merry Christmas friends!

I am a medical anomaly, advocate for people, freakishly smart, believer of unicorns, self-proclaimed addict of frozen yogurt, secretly a ninja, and personally planning the assassination of Barbie...Oh and I have Parkinson's disease.
